Human Nature ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website shophumannature.com (the "Site"). We are a small-batch herbal supplement company based in Portland, Oregon, United States.

Information you provide

• Email address — when you subscribe to our newsletter, take our quiz, or sign up for product notifications.
• Name and contact information — when you place an order, submit a wholesale inquiry, or contact us.
• Payment information — when you make a purchase. Payment details are processed directly by our payment processor (Stripe) and are never stored on our servers.
• Quiz responses— when you use our "Find Your Formula" quiz. These answers are used solely to generate product recommendations and are not stored on our servers.

Information collected automatically

• Analytics data — pages visited, time on site, referral source, device type, and browser. Collected via Google Analytics 4 and Meta Pixel, only after you consent to cookies.
• Site measurement — your IP address, the approximate location it indicates (country, region and city), device and browser information, the site or ad that referred you, the page you arrived on, and any campaign parameters carried in that link (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content and utm_term). We record these on our own systems as you browse, so we can see which pages and campaigns bring people to the shop. Unlike the Google and Meta data above, this is first-party measurement — it is never shared with advertising networks, and it is collected whether or not you accept cookies. See Section 6 for how long we keep it.
• Cookies — small text files stored on your device. See Section 5 below for details.

• Vercel — website hosting (privacy policy)
• Google Analytics — website analytics, consent-gated (privacy policy)
• Meta (Facebook) — advertising pixel, consent-gated (privacy policy)

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

Our Site uses cookies to improve your experience and analyze traffic. When you first visit, a banner asks for your consent. You may accept or decline.

• Essential cookies — required for the site to function (cart contents, cookie consent preference). These do not require consent.
• Analytics cookies— Google Analytics and Meta Pixel. Only activated after you click "accept" on the cookie banner. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies.

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy:

• Order data — retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance.
• Email subscribers — retained until you unsubscribe.
• Analytics data— retained according to Google and Meta's standard retention periods.
• Site measurement — your IP address and browser information are erased 90 days after the visit. The rest of the measurement (page viewed, referring site, campaign parameters, and the approximate location — country, region and city) is kept for 180 days and then deleted.

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you (orders, subscriptions, email captures, account details)
• Correct — request correction of inaccurate data
• Delete — request deletion of your data from our systems (Stripe, our database, marketing email lists, analytics)
• Export / portability — request a machine-readable copy of your data
• Opt out of marketing — unsubscribe from emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email or by request
• Withdraw cookie consent— clear your browser cookies, or use your browser's "Do Not Track" setting

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@shophumannature.com. Please include the email address you used to order so we can locate your records. We will respond within 30 days (often sooner). There is no fee for routine requests.

Note: deletion requests for orders may be limited by tax-record retention requirements (typically 7 years) — we'll explain what we can and cannot delete in our response. We do not sell or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes; the "opt out of sale" right common under California law (CCPA) is not applicable to our practices.

Our Site is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption, secure payment processing via Stripe, and restricted access to personal data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards across the site, and we want to hear about any barrier you encounter.
